This pennant celebrates Iowa football at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Kinnick Stadium opened in 1929. It is named after alum Nile Kinnick, the 1939 Heisman Trophy winner and only Heisman winner in school history. It was named Iowa Stadium until 1972, when Cedar Rapids Gazette sportswriter Gus Schrader successfully convinced the UI athletic board to change the name. Today it holds 70,585. Victory Pennants are made of high-quality soft wool-felt and are screen-printed by hand. They measure 12-inches tall and 30-inches long. They have traditional felt pennant-ties and hang beautifully.
