Product Description:
Mark Messier's next stop will be the Hockey Hall of Fame. The legend hung up his skates on September 12, 2005, at the age of 44, after amassing an amazing array of achievements. Over the course of his career he scored 694 goals, led the Edmonton Oilers to five Stanley Cup championships and the New York Rangers to their first Cup since 1940, received the Hart Trophy in 1990 and 1992, won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1984, and was named to 15 All-Star teams. Of course, Messier couldn't do it all alone. He was the ultimate team player, and shared the spotlight with such fellow stars as Wayne Gretzky and Mike Richter. This unique framed collage features several photographs of Messier celebrating memorable moments with teammates, as well as a full-color nameplate with a quote from Mark Messier commemorating his passion for teamwork. The inscription reads, "Team work is what makes a team sport extremely challenging and yet so rewarding. It is challenging to motivate 25 people/players to focus their energy in the same direction, and convince all the players to believe that the team is more important than the individual. It is rewarding to see the players surrender their egos and their personal agendas to benefit the team and ultimately become victorious."
