When Yogi Berra returned to Yankee Stadium on a sweltering July afternoon in 1999, fittingly his battery mate Don Larsen, who threw the only perfect game in World Series history, threw out the first pitch to Rizzuto. Only a few hours later, it was the Yankees celebrating another perfect game when Scott Brosius settled under the final out of David Cone's perfection. It was the second year in a row that a Yankee pitched a perfect game, as David Wells did it in 1998. Ironically, it all goes back to Larsen. He was there for Cone's, but also he and Wells are alumni of the same high school in San Diego.
